Transportation Electrification

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) will be hosting three community meetings along I-5 to discuss the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program and we want to invite you and your organization. The purpose of these meetings is to provide an overview of ODOT’s fast-charging station plans along specific corridors, and most importantly, we want to hear from you. We hope you will attend and share this invitation with others in your community to tell us what you’re most excited about and to discuss any concerns you may have related to the program.

I-5 Meetings
  • Cottage Grove Community Center: February 22 from 3:00-4:00 PM
  • Canyonville – Seven Feathers Resort, Grape Room: February 23 from 9:30-10:30 AM
  • Medford – Jackson County Library, Carpenter Conference Room: February 23 from 3:00-4:00 PM

Next Steps
  • Read through our online open house to learn more about NEVI, Justice40, and to take a survey associated with the interstate or highway that is most relevant to you.
  • Share this invite and the open house link with others.
  • While RSVP is not required, we would love to know if you plan to attend and at which location. Please respond to brett.howell@odot.oregon.gov.

Please contact State Senator David Brock Smith and ask him to support Senate Bill 530, the 2023 Natural Climate Solutions Bill.  This legislation will provide incentives to the agricultural and forest business to adopt ways to sequester and store carbon.  Attached are summaries and talking points regarding the way in which rural communities such as ours can benefit from the passage of this bill.

Senator Brock Smith may be contacted:
by email:   Sen.DavidBrockSmith@oregonlegislature.gov
by phone:  503-986-1701

Since Senator Brock Smith sits on the committee which holds hearings on this bill, it is important that he hear that his constituents are supportive of this legislation
